Dr Tom Daamen is Associate Professor at Delft University of Technology. He is a researcher, speaker and academic advisor on waterfront change in port cities. To this end, Tom combines knowledge from property development and finance with insights from the fields of urban and port economics, governance, planning, and design. In Delft, he leads a research group that focuses on public-private partnerships in the delivery of complex city redevelopment projects. Tom is an acknowledged international expert on development strategies for waterfronts zones, and he publishes regularly on the evolution of port-city relationships. On these topics, he leads several research projects, teaches both students and professionals in the relevant fields, and provides advise to both port and city authorities.
