Jean-François began his career as transportation analyst for Marine Policy and Programs of Transport Canada in Ottawa. He was then employed as logistics analyst for an emerging research centre focusing on applied logistics. In parallel, he began teaching logistics at the Institut Maritime du Québec (IMQ) and eventually moved full time to this institution. At the IMQ, he quickly integrated the research team of Maritime Innovation where he conducted numerous applied research functions in the maritime logistics field. In 2007, he was hired as research associate and professor for the Institut portuaire d’enseignement et de recherche (IPER) in Le Havre, France. His duties for the IPER consisted in providing training in port management issues and strategies as well as conducting applied research projects. He returned to Maritime Innovation in 2010 where he concentrated on applied research work for the marine industry. He joined CPCS in 2011 and provides strategic advice on transportation issues.
